I must say

I have been pleasantly surprised at how things are going with the bathroom. Yes, it's taking time, since we both work all day, and are pretty much limited to noisy things on Saturdays, but really, my husband has proven me wrong so far. I doubted his skills, but on Saturday he laid an entire shower floor pan, he did the shower dam, liner, and then cemented over it all. All I did was mix some of the concrete for him. He was nervous about it, but made it through nicely.

This was what the shower dam looked like - wood was pretty much rotted, through, so we got rid of that!

The shower floor tile removed, ready for a new shower pan, new dam already in place.

Completed shower pan.

We do have to have a plumber come out to fix a leak that was behind the walls when we pulled them down (that's why we have Home Warranty Insurance), but other than that this has been a complete do it yourself project. And I have to say, I did pitch in with some of the demo and liked taking a hammer to those walls! Hopefully we can start tiling this weekend (Pending plumber being able to fix everything, fingers crossed)
