BATHtastic

Remember how about 6 months ago I mentioned "we," meaning 95% Adam, were remodeling our guest bathroom. Well it is done, it's been done for a few weeks, but pictures were delayed due to the fact that we hadn't picked towels. Well now it's done and done! Here are the photos

Before Vanity and Shower
During Demolition

The remodel starts with laying a new shower pan and backerboard(the shower pan had to be done twice, the first time wasn't quite right, but thanks to our home teacher, David Smith, it was perfect the second time around)

I pretty much stopped taking pictures of the process because it was just a never ending thing.  So here's the end result!
Real tile floors!  No more laminate!
New fan that Adam installed all by himself, no electrician need.  A little art work for the bathroom thanks to Ross!

Adam worked sooooo hard, so hard.  Saturday after Saturday he would spend 10 hours working on this. The tile saw was extremely loud and there was a lot of tile cutting, sorry neighbors!  Since the pattern we chose to tile the shower in wasn't exactly for beginners!  I don't know what we were thinking, that pattern  is so much harder than just slapping the same tile, same shape up, one after another, but I think it turned out beautiful!  Adam probably saved us $8,000 in labor costs.  I think the entire remodel including tile, tools, vanity, mirror, fixtures, towels, etc cost us around $2,800.  Seriously - ask anyone who has redone their bathroom if they got this good of a result for just $2,800!  We are so happy with it.  My Dad did come over a few times to help with various installations, like the shower doors and light fixture, so a big thanks to him for being so handy and available!  I was so skeptical of this whole thing, but am thankful I have such a wonderful husband who works hard and is determined to do a good job at whatever it is he is doing.  I really hardly helped at all, but the few times I did, it was exhausting and there were so many frustrations along the way, but it all paid off.
Adam is going to count the number of times he either bought something or took something back to Home Depot or Lowes, I'm guessing there must have been 200 or more trips made.  So I can successfully say we survived, it wasn't easy, there was a lot of stress and our house was a mess for months, because when you're remodeling there's no point in cleaning anything.  Adam's next goal is to get our before and after pictures on the show BATHtastic.  We'll let you know how that goes!

So nice! I wish my husband were a bit more handy and motivated to do things himself and save us a bit of money... maybe I'll just learn do things myself!

Oh my gosh! My jaw is on the floor - that is beautiful! $2,800? Seriously, you need to submit this to HGTV for "Bang for your Buck" or one of those shows! I'm pretty sure they're going to tell you that you just added $15k in value to your house. Awesome job guys!

And now that Adam's Saturdays are free, let's plan a night to go out! :-)
