Adam and I were driving home from dinner, (a Mystery shop to CPK, where you get to spend up to $55 on food, seriously people, mystery shopping is the best) and as we were driving along PCH I just felt so entirely grateful that I get to live where I do. We certainly pay for it, but Adam and I have jobs that allow us to do so, and I just found myself so completely content. I mean really, I live 1 mile from the beach. If I go for a run, I do it along the beach or through the wetlands. If I want to go for a bike ride, I don’t have to get in the car to be able to ride along the coast, just cruise right down. Oh, and if I forget that I don’t have lettuce or something I needed for dinner, I can literally walk about 20 yards across the street to Trader Joes to grab some. I can go to Disneyland any day of the year that I feel like it. I know in Southern, CA, Disneyland passes are a dime a dozen, but really, how many people would love to be able to drive just 20 minutes to get to the Happiest Place on Earth any day of the year! I had a friend visit once and as we were driving along PCH, he said, it's like you live in a vacation. (I know you can say that about a lot of places, but really, it's much more true about HB, than most other places)
Sometimes I find myself longing to live in the bay area, because I do love it there too, but last night, I was so happy to be living in Huntington Beach. So, so happy, even if it means we’ll be living in a 2 bedroom condo for the rest of our lives with zero privacy, I am happy here.
