So the day after Adam's championship game we were able to take 2 days off to go spend with his family up at the their cabin in Lake Huntington in the mountains above Fresno. We were a little worried about weather because it was supposed to be thunder storms the whole time we were there and I was a bit disappointed because I love the sun. We got up there late Wednesday night and woke up Thursday to Sunshine and a great day on the lake, it was a little brisk, but it was great fishing! Adam caught 5 fish, 3 were keepers, 2 were throwbacks. This was the most he caught in a long time, so he was a happy man.
Here's a few shots of us on the Lake that day and Adam with his fish!

Well the next morning, Friday, I woke up and looked out the window and saw that the trees completely covered in snow and snow was still falling! I woke Adam up and we jumped out of bed and had a fun day in the snow. We were a little worried though because we didn't bring chains up because we weren't expecting snow, thunder storms yes, but snow in June???NO WAY! But it was beautiful, it was actually the first time Adam had been in falling snow, he's gone snowboarding and such before, but has never actually been anywhere when it's actually snowing so it was a treat. The snow stopped mid day and rain began, which we were thankful for because we needed the snow to melt so we could get down the mountain.

Here we are fresh out of bed and in the snow!

We made the most out of the snow!

By Saturday morning the snow had stopped, but it was still freezing up there, but we managed to get out on the lake anyway and see what kind of fishing we could do. Adam and his Dad caught a combined 3 fish, but they were too small to keep, so we headed in because we were all pretty much frozen.
Here I am freezing, but having fun!

We decided to head down the mountain Saturday evening just for fear of icy roads and such, and we had a birthday party to get to on Sunday in Fresno. We stayed with Adam's grandparents and enjoyed Mildred's 99th Birthday party on Sunday before the drive home. ( I managed to leave my camera behind for the party, so no pics of that)
It was a great family weekend and I had so much fun, the snow was a special treat, so all my prior complaining about how cold it was going to be was a waste of energy. I have a new goal to be more positive about things, I think Adam is getting tired of all my whining, and I am too, it doesn't do anyone any good. So if you catch me whining and complaining, call me on it, it needs to stop!

Wow good job on the softball and holy cow with the snow in June! Looks like you had a great time though!
Great job Adam! What a nutty weekend. We had a weird weather weekend too.
love those pictures--they totally cracked me up! You two are so cute--my favorite one is Adam with his fish on a plate or the one of you in a COAT in the boat. He looks so totally, adorably proud of himself...and you look SOOOOOO cold :-D Love you guys!
