My Best Friend

Two years ago, Adam and I were blissfully wed in San Pedro, California. It was an amazing day. Two years ago we entered the Admiralty Ballroom of Simon's Banquet Center and our favorite DJ - Mr. Austin Walk, himself, hit the play button for Tim McGraw's classic song "My Best Friend" While there were 160 people all staring at us as we shared our first dance as Mr. and Mrs. Blaesser, it really felt like we were the only two people in the room and I even saw a few tears well up in Adam's eyes. This song, while corny and country as can be, had been our song since 2003, so it was pretty special after everything we'd been through in the 5 an 1/2 years of an on again off again relationship.

Adam and I were discussing our two years of marriage and we both agreed it felt like we had been married more than two years. Perhaps because we had a long courtship, but I feel like my life without Adam was so long ago, and we're getting pretty good at this whole marriage thing. We really are pretty perfect for each other, even my dear sweet 92 year old grandpa recognizes that, and called us "just perfect." I am so thankful to be married to someone who helps me in this ultimate journey of life to be more Christ like and has a testimony and supports me in every way a husband can and should.

I am so thankful that just over a year ago we were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Newport Beach temple and that I get to spend eternity with my best friend.
