Fall Festivities

I am not actually a huge fan of fall.   I know, I know, it's rare, it seems just about everyone around me is jumping up and down about the change in seasons. I am just a summertime girl, and actually get depressed in September when it comes to an end.  I don't have cute fall boots or scarves, because, well, we live in Southern CA, and let's face it, the season's don't actually change much by the beach, not to mention, I can't figure out how to wear a scarf to save my life.  I generally just want to fast forward through Sept. - Nov.  Because Christmas, is just so much more meaningful and fun to me.   All that said, I am trying my best to "be happy now."   Enjoying the fall instead of being depressed about it, seems like a way to be happy, so this is what we've been up to.  We've spent a couple nights enjoying Halloween Time at Disneyland recently and it really is pretty cute. Having a Disneyland pass helps any season/ holiday be just a little more special, they just know how to do things right there

We were also able to make a little trip out to the cute town of Oak Glen to enjoy fall festivities.  I went there when I was a little girl with my best friend Lindsay Bennett, and I remember it just being the best time.  Apple picking, petting zoos, bakeries and picnics, fun right?  So 20 or so years later I returned, and my cute husband willingly made the 80 mile trek out to San Bernadino county to see what this place was all about.  We  had such a fun day, although I do think it would be more fun with kids; things like hay rides and petting zoos just aren't as appealing  unless you're living through the eyes of a child, but we still enjoyed picking our own delicious fresh apples and sampling all kinds of jams and apple products.  We had some fresh roasted corn, a caramel covered apple and fresh pressed cider.

We needed a ladder

Love this guy so much!

Willowbrook was a cute small farm, there are other much larger ones, but we chose a small family run farm and loved it!

We went a little early in the season, but they run out of apples if you go too late, and we didn't want to miss out on the spoils!  I made delicious apple pancakes this morning to start using them up.  I think I might be able to jump on the fall bandwagon, but I am still not going to go out and buy boots and scarves;)

Yay for jumping on the fall bandwagon! :-) The pics from the Apple Farm are great - looks like such a fun day!
