Baby Showers

I'm not gonna lie.  The third trimester of pregnancy hasn't been as much of a cake walk as the first two were with this pregnancy.  I've still been pretty active and felt ok, but there have just been complications that make me feel like I am not quite as equipped to carry children as I thought.  This baby got big fast and so at 33 week they had me re-test for Gestational Diabetes and my levels came back high and therefore, I've been monitoring my diet, pricking my finger 4 times a day to make sure my glucose levels aren't too high.  Despite all my efforts to eat the right things at the right time, this baby is still on track to be in the upper 9 pound range.

It's all been kind of crazy.  I have to see 4 different doctors for all the stuff I have going on.

But between Dr. Visits and trying to cope with all that's going on, I've had a lot of love and support from people around me, which I am very thankful for.

My work has been great.  I think I leave the office twice a week to go to appointments, I've missed meetings and been so tired, but everyone is so supportive.

They even threw me a great little Garden Tea Party themed shower.

Fun little tea party

Adam and I drove up to Santa Cruz next.  Yes - I took a road trip at 35 weeks pregnant - I got my Dr.'s permission and it was worth it.  Adam's family and their friends up in Santa Cruz all came out during a beautiful weekend to give us all kinds of love and support.  The company was great, the food delicious, setting just beautiful, I felt so spoiled to have so many people, several of whom I was meeting for the first time, come out to support us in the journey into partnerhood we're about to begin!

Adam got to come to this shower with me, it was fun to have him there!

Delicious salad bar

Adam's Mom made the cutest crib skirt!  It's perfect!

Lovely ladies

Guessing how big my baby is

My niece Mia and older sister Julie were able to make it too!  So fun!

Adam's Grandma, Aunt and cousin, so nice to have them there!

This lady is going to be a great Grandma!

More support from Adam's family!

Up next was my Huntington Beach baby shower!  My little sister and some of the ladies I serve with at church threw me a "Troy Meets World" baby shower, to go along with our "travel" inspired nursery.  It was so fun and the fact that I had women come to the shower who knew me when I was just a toddler was very special.  Plus some of the the girl friends I've had since I was in pre-school.  We certainly got spoiled once again!

My little sister and mom celebrating with Troy and me!

Troy Meets World indeed!

Food from all over the world

I've known these girls since I was about 3 years old!  So many memories!

My due date is closing in.  I can hardly believe it.  Adam and I are trying to enjoy these last few quiet night with just the two of us.  It's been a very special time and I am thankful to the many people who are rooting for us!
