The first weekend of February was the Surf City Marathon and the Super Bowl. No I didn’t run the marathon, but Free Wheelchair Mission is sponsored Charity that headlines the race. It was our 4th year there, and was a great success. None the less I worked all weekend, Saturday I was working the Expo booth and Runners dinner. Sunday I worked the race! We had a booth there and had different assignments. I was also able to run the 5K with my Co-Worker Angela! We did it in 24 minutes, not bad for me! And we finished up in time to watch the Super Bowl!

Adam has been really busy at work, and therefore has had to work a lot of overtime and go in on Saturday’s as well. So it was a welcomed break when Valentine’s day came and he had a whole day planned for just the two of us. We spent the day in LA, our first stop was the Getty Museum, which was just a great as ever. We spent several hours there, before making our way to Burbank to eat dinner at Elephant Bar. After dinner we headed up to the Griffith Park Observatory, which was really fun, but also packed!! We did get to look through some telescopes and enjoyed the exhibits, but the tickets to the Planetarium show were all sold out.

The Next Weekend – we were finally able to cash in on the Christmas Present from my parents. We got to go see Phantom of the Opera at the Pantages. We stopped on the way up there for dinner, and I thought I had timed everything just right, but alas, the traffic was horrible and we were almost late! Miraculously we made it just about 30 seconds before the show started! Thanks Mom and Dad! We also enjoyed watching the Oscars at my parents, which is always fun. Adam doesn’t quite share my excitement for these awards show, so I think he’s glad the Awards season is over.
This past Thursday, I was able to take a quick one day trip down to Rosarito, Mexico with 6 other staff members to have a day to enjoy the fruits our labor and distribute wheelchairs there. Oh, and by the way, I know people keep hearing about all the danger there, but really, the media is blowing it out of proportion. Anyway, it was such a fun day. We distributed about 5 wheelchairs and then enjoyed lobster in Puerto Nuevo that evening before heading back for home.
