Humble Song of Joy

Today is a wonderful day. Why, you ask? Because my Mother, Carol Pauline was born, and this world became a brighter place. I was trying to think of something profound and new to write, that I hadn't already included in the Mother's Day post I did a couple months ago, and I began thinking about my Mother's name and how perfect it is for her. Carol, meaning "Song of Joy" and her middle name, Pauline means "Humble." Those of you who know my mom, you must know how much she loves music and can be found joyfully singing throughout the day. And you may also have observed her humility. She is just about the least arrogant or prideful person I've ever met and is the first to admit her faults and has learned that she must rely on others to make it through this earthly life.

When I asked my Mom what she wanted for her birthday this year, her response was, "Oh, I take after my Dad, who told me all he wanted was his children's love." (By the way it was my mom's Dad's 92nd birthday on July 1st, Happy Birthday Pa!) But really, my mom meant it, her only wish in this life is that her family is happy and healthy and she had done everything in her power to see that happen.

So today on my Mom's birthday, I want her to know, indeed I love her, I am happier and happier everyday, and glad to say healthy too.

Happy Birthday to the best Mom a girl could ask for. Thank you for your example of humility and for being a song of joy in my life every day!
