The Free Wheelchair Mission staff always make a point to take a staff picture at our annual event. As I was looking at this year's picture I realized just how close I am to all of these people. We really are a family. Let's face it I spend more waking hours with these people than anyone else in my life and we are all working toward athe mission of transforming lives through the gift of mobility as motivated by Jesus Christ. This mission creates such a special bond for us. I cry all the time in front of our staff, because I am so passionate about our mission, it moves me to tears quite often. These people have seen me through a lot of trials and a lot of joy too. While of course we all get annoyed with each other every now and then, really, it just makes us grow closer and we can look back on any tiffs we've had and laugh and realize that ultimately, on average, every hour nine people receive a Free Wheelchair Mission wheelchair somewhere around the world.
I love this family so much. Each person is so talented and inspiring. It's hard to believe, that besides our president and founder, Don, the guy with the mustache, I have been here longer than anyone else. We've lost some great staff along the way, either to other jobs, schooling or moving away, but I have kept in touch with several of those people, thank you facebook.
How did I get so lucky. These people make up one of the most unique and wonderful families anyone could ask for and I am so proud to be a part of it!
