So Turducken wasn’t the only enjoyment we had over Christmas and the New Year. There was a lot more involved, but I have just been lazy about updating the rest.
But for journaling sake I want to remember it so here’s bit about how we spend the holidays.
We journeyed up to Santa Cruz for Christmas to be with Adam’s family. We had beautiful weather and made it on several walks, including one on the beach on Christmas Eve.
On Christmas Day it rained all day so we stayed inside, opened gifts, ate delicious waffles, watched the Turducken cook, played games, did a puzzle, and listened to Christmas music, which I found out is not really all Blaesser’s favorite tunes, but they were nice and let me listen anyway, because I get a lot of joy out of Christmas music. I would definitely say it was a Giant’s themed Christmas, and rightly so, they did win the world series after all!

The day after Christmas we had beautiful weather and made a trip down to Monterey. I hadn’t been to the aquarium in about 20 years, so I was excited for this. Of course the aquarium was impressive and beautiful, but the company was the best part. I really am so lucky to belong to this family.
Because Adam’s parents had to work on Monday we decided to drive up to San Mateo to visit my sister and her family for the day. It was fun to see everyone and get some quality time in with them. We went for a little hike and had fun playing freeze tag and hide and seek.
Then it was back to So Cal. Since our Christmas gifts to each other this year were Disneyland passes we decided to ring in the new year in the happiest place on earth.
My parents also bought passes so we went with them and had a great time. We spent a lot of time in California Adventure to avoid the huge crowds. But did go into Disneyland for the countdown. It was definitely the biggest crowd I have ever been in on New Year’s Eve and it was awesome. Despite the poor Disney employees trying to make us move and open up a walkway, we just stopped listening, found a place to stand and celebrate! The fireworks at midnight were spectacular and it was a great place to be. We stayed at Disneyland until about 1:45 am, definitely the latest I have ever been there! It was a great celebration.
All in all our holidays were terrific and I am thankful for the family we have to celebrate with!
