Family Fun in February

I can’t believe how crazy busy February was. It seems like the half marathon we did the first weekend in February was ages ago, but is was just about three weeks ago.
The weekend after Adam’s brother and sister were in town for our Team Blaesser half marathon effort Adam’s parents came to stay, and his aunt, uncle, cousins and grandma came to visit too! Adam’s cousin Allison was graduating from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, AMDA, with a bachelors in Fine Arts, hence the visit.
It was a really fun weekend complete with graduation festivities, family dinners and of course Disneyland. I managed to leave my camera behind for most of it, which sucked, but did remember it at Disneyland, only then to be terrible at taking pictures. I just hate to make a whole group stop and pose for a picture.

Allison is out to tackle the world of musical theater and we hope she is able to live the dream. She is extremely talented and we hope to see her on stage soon! Break a leg Allison – Congrats!

The day Adam’s parents arrived we got news that my sister Julie, had given birth to her fourth Child. Eli Joseph was born on February 10th in the wee hours of the morning, 1:11 am. He came early and still weighed a healthy 7lbs. 5 oz. And he’s perfect.  A few days after we said goodbye to Adam’s family, I made the drive up to the Bay area, San Mateo, to be exact, to be with my sister and her family of 6! It was a wonderful 4 days. I sure do love the Shong family. I got a glimpse of motherhood after helping to take care of the three older kids during the rainy weekend; making them meals, getting them dressed, taking them to church, and Chucky Cheese and playing lots of games. We had so much fun. When I asked my five year old nephew, Kai, on Thursday night what he wanted to do on Friday he said, “We can play, and tell secrets, and eat!” So that’s what we did! Of course I snuck in a few precious moments with my week old new nephew too. Changing diapers and cuddling his perfect little tiny body. Pure love, that boy is.  I was so glad to be there to help and play and I miss them all so much!
