That's right, I enjoyed another trip, compliments of Boeing, since they take my husband away from me for 75% of my days. This time, it was to Seattle.
While not nearly as jammed packed as my trip out to
Philadelphia, it was an amazing weekend.
Friday, while Adam worked, I spent the day having a long over due visit with the one and only
Julie Allen. Julie quickly became my closest friend in college, and the last time we saw each other in person was when she came down 3.5 years ago when Adam and I got married! How, did I let 3.5 years pass without seeing this wonderful woman, I do not know. Unfortunately, about a day before I arrived, Julie took a fall which resulted in her fracturing 2 bones in her foot! Yikes. Poor thing was such a good sport and still took me to breakfast, and we literally just sat around all day and talked. From 8 in the morning until 9:30 at night. We reminisced, we laughed, we bonded, we didn't even nap, we just talked. Julie's gracious husband made dinner for which Adam joined us and we continued to talk into the night. It was so amazing to catch up and be with my Julie again. There are no words to describe how much I truly love and admire this woman and how thankful I am that Heavenly Father brought us together. Julie was just a couple weeks pregnant when she was at our wedding, so this was my first time meeting little Henry George Allen, and can I just say, he's too precious for words!

Sweet, sweet Saturday arrived and as we pulled up the blinds of the
Emerald Suite in the Grand Hyatt Hotel, (that's one perk of all of Adam's traveling, free suite upgrades), the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day in Seattle. Adam and I hit all of the tourist spots and just really enjoyed being away together, just the two of us. Later on in the evening we seriously had the best steak dinner I've ever had.
The Metropolitan Grill did not disappoint. Thanks to the per diem Adam receives it makes going out to nice places a lot more affordable. I am not even generally a steak person, but I may crave a steak from Metropolitan Grill someday, it was unforgettable. Mmmm.

Our first tourist activity was the Underground Tour a fun way to learn about Seattle's history.

Of course we made a stop at Pike Place Market, had some fish and chips and everything!

The weekend was much too quickly coming to an end. But we did fit in a great little hike Sunday morning, which was a colder, rainier day, and Adam's sister Katie, who is now a Seattle resident, joined us.

A great Sunday hike!

Adam and Katie get to spend a lot of time together these days, I am a little jealous!
All in all it was a fantastic weekend. Unfortunately it will be almost 11 days until I see my husband again, but it sure makes our time together more special when we do have it!

Sounds like you guys had a great time! No one ever has photos of Seattle like that - with SUN and BLUE skies! :-)
I love this. It was so good to see you. Thank you for taking care of me!!! I love that the crutches are so prominently placed in the picture. It's fitting.
