Honestly, we only went to the beach three times! How sad is that. When I was growing up there wasn’t a Saturday
we didn’t spend at the beach in the summer.
Now I only manage to make it once a month! Granted, we do often take
advantage of our close proximity by running and riding bikes on the beach, but
just laying out, soaking up the sun and having a picnic, just didn’t
happen.
Adam and I also did a little hike in Peter’s Canyon at the
beginning of summer, and I thought, oh, wouldn’t it be nice if we tried a new
hike at least once a month in our surrounding areas? Yeah well… that didn’t happen either. That was the only hike in the OC we did at
all... perhaps hiking in the spring is the better season to do that anyway, right?
We did manage to have some fun this summer. Adam spent much of the summer working in Seattle, so for
Father’s Day weekend his whole family went up there and we enjoyed a little get
away together.

Unfortunately that was also the weekend my sister Julie and
her family came down to visit, but I got back in time to see them for a couple
days, one of which we spent at Knott’s together. It’s always fun to have family come
visit.
Considering I spent 12 days of July in Viet Nam, that’s
all I really remember from that month.
What a great experience that was.
In August we took our annual trip up to Huntington Lake
in the Sierra’s and enjoyed a weekend of fishing, eating, sleeping, game
playing and relaxing. It was so relaxing
that I didn’t bother to ever get my camera out except for one time. But then again I could put pictures of from
the prior years and you wouldn’t know the difference, it looks the same every
year.
| I did take one picture, it started pouring rain while we were out fishing, so I had to snap this shot of the men 's dedication to fishing. |
We also celebrated Adam’s 30th birthday in
August. I was pretty lame as far as a
celebration goes for him. Adam is quite
possibly the hardest person to buy gifts for on the planet. He never wants anything, except for the occasional
tool, but I decided to try something new.
Neither of us had seen a Cirque du Soleil show before, so I got us
tickets to Iris in LA and we enjoyed the amazing acrobatics and seemingly
impossible bending bodies. We took in a
little of Hollywood
as well, which, as many of you know, is kind of a dump, but it’s a fascinating
place to people watch.

So now we’re onto Fall…. I tried to enjoy some of the fall festivities last year, and perhaps will try to figure out what everyone loves so
much about it again, but honestly if we
could just fast forward to December that would be fine with me. I am missing summer already.

It's not too late for the beach! I feel like I should be paid to be a beach advocate, but seriously... I love the beach in September!
PS. When are we having a girls night? This weekend is not working out like I thought it would.
Ok, I think it's time for the Luna's to help get you in the mood to ENJOY Fall! :-) Honestly, I also don't think it's too late to enjoy the beach. Especially when the Santa Ana's start kicking up - it'll be warm out there! And just a standing invitation: We usually go every Friday (sometimes Saturday) evening around 5pm, pick up Chik-fil-a to go on our way, and have a picnic at the picnic tables/park behind the Montage Villas in Laguna Beach. Literally, almost every week. If you guys ever find yourself with no plans on a Friday or Saturday, text me and we'll meet up!
