Birthday Boys

Today is my little brother Rhett’s birthday! I just have to say first off that Rhett amazes me. He is so talented and brings so much laughter and light into this world, but he also has a very serious and emotional side to him that I just love. Rhett and I have had some great memories, but one of my favorites would have to be related to the temple. When we were attending the Goldenwest Single’s Ward in HB, we went to the temple where Rhett was asked to perform the confirmations, and being in their with him as we served together and he did the confirmations and I sat under his priesthood authority; I’ve never felt so close to my brother as I did at that moment. Rhett certainly lives life to the fullest and enjoys the journey, I am grateful for his example of this, because often times I take life very seriously and forget to enjoy the ride, so today I am sure he’ll enjoy celebrating! I am so thankful for my eternal family and that I have siblings who are also my closest friends. Happy Birthday Bro!

Baby Rhett joins the family (I didn't look too happy about it then, but I sure am now!)

Fresh out of the temple after marrying Monica!

Making great memories...

And tomorrow, is my sweet nephew Gavin’s 3rd birthday. This little guy is so special and so amazing. He’s got to be one of the smartest kids I’ve ever met, which doesn’t surprise me considering both Ryan and Maria are very intellectually gifted. I can’t believe he’s already 3 years old! Time really does fly. Gavin certainly is a kid filled with joy and curiosity. It’s such a joy to be an auntie to this little guy, and it’s been fun to watch him grow up. Even though he’s far away, I’ve been able to visit him a few times in Washington, and they’ve come down several times to visit us. I hope as he gets older I still get to see him this much because his future is so bright.

I was able to go visit Gavin just about 6 weeks after he was born!

Here's a more recent shot of Gavin and Adam enjoying the beach!

Happy Birthday to Rhett and Gavin! Love you both!
