Happy Birthday to my Hubby

I don’t know what it is, but I think when you’re young and married with no kids there’s this pressure to make your husband’s birthday extra special. This is probably due to the fact that once kids do start to arrive on the scene, the husband’s birthday will most like take a hit in the “special day” department.

Anyway, this whole idea of making Adam’s birthday out of this world, is actually very intimidating to me. I get stressed out trying to come up with a cute to plan or concept to surprise and delight him. The funny thing is that Adam doesn’t really care either way. Not that he doesn’t appreciate my extra efforts, but I don’t think he’d miss them if they didn’t happen. So all this pressure isn’t worth it, when really I could just hug him and tell him I love him and he’d enjoy that just as much as any candy card, scavenger hunt, giant cookie message, candles, balloons, etc.

That being said I will give him a shout out on this blog, even though he never reads it.

Happy Birthday to my perfect match, my best friend, my trusted companion, my amazing husband, Adam.

I love you more and more each day, and am amazed by your commitment and determination, loyalty and love. I’m a lucky woman to be experiencing this journey with you!

In honor of heading into the late 20’s and hitting 27 here are 27 reasons I am in love with Adam…
1. He’s loyal (He sticks by those 49ers and Giants no matter what ;) )
2. He’s committed – Once he starts something he does not give up!
3. He’s dedicated – Just as him Home Teachees!
4. He’s loves babies – He’ll probably hate that I’m sharing this, but whenever we’re in church and sitting next to families with babies (i.e. Tom and Cinnamon and baby Max) he always tell me to get the baby from them so he can play with them.
5. He’s intelligent – He got an MBA from USC at just 26
6. He’s handsome
7. He’s just my size – his 5’5” height fits perfectly with me!
8. He’s soooo good with money.
9. He sets righteous goals
10. He works hard to achieve those goals
11. He’s a great cook – the man bought 3 different cuts of beef at the store the other night with recipes in mind of what he could make with them.
12. He always tells me he missed me after a long day at work
13. He has no problem doing the dishes when I cook
14. He let’s me watch a lot of girly TV(The Bachelor/ American Idol) and doesn’t complain even though I know he doesn’t like it.
15. He tickles my back when I beg him to do so.
16. He has great faith in the plan of happiness
17. He’s working on his handy man skills – he’s fixed toilets, ceiling and showers now.
18. We laugh together – while neither one of us are particularly funny people, we can make each other laugh and that’s what’s most important
19. He’s temple worthy
20. He honors his priesthood
21. He loves his family and mine
22. He’s focused
23. He brings a smile to my face everyday
24. He knows how to handle my mood swings
25. He loves sports (as do I)
26. He is my running and biking buddy
27. He is shows his love in actions, like cooking and cleaning, washing my car and bringing me home surprises!

The list could go on and on… I just hope he reads this one!

I've celebrated a lot of birthdays with Adam now. It helps that it's in the summer and when we were long distance I was usually able to be there with him. I was there when he turned 20, in Santa Cruz 7 years ago! Crazy how time flies. Too bad I didn't start thinking about taking pictures until more recently. Anyway here are a few shots of us celebrating over the years.

Rhett and Adam's birthday's are just 3 days apart, so this was a joint birthday cake.
