We went to Utah

We journeyed to Utah last weekend to be a part of the graduation celebration for Rhett and Monica. Rhett graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Marriage Family and Human Development, while Monica received her Master's degree in Education. Congrats you two!

We certainly made the most of our time there. We flew in Thursday morning and Adam and I headed into the Temple Square area of Downtown Salt Lake. This was Adam's first visit to Salt Lake and it was a great experience. We toured the conference center, then met up with the one and only Geoff Johnston to do a session in the Salt Lake City Temple. Geoff was the missionary who worked with Adam for nearly 8 months in helping him build his testimony and prepare Adam in his decision to get baptized. Geoff was able to baptize Adam and we've kept in contact with him during these past 2 and half years. I can't tell you what an amazing experience it was to be in the temple with Adam and Geoff, it really just reminded me of the importance of missionary work and that the Lord really is in charge.

Friday was the graduation day. The ceremony was really great and Rhett and Monica should be extremely proud of their accomplishments. They'll be on their way to the University of Tennessee to continue with their education to begin working on doctorates in their fields! A couple of Dr. Billen's in the making.

These pictures aren't really in order, but you get it...

The lighting was terrible in there, so here's the best I got

The weekend continued with great food at Tucanos, the creamery, Cafe Rio, Papa Murphys, etc. We stayed at The Johnston's home and they were just wonderful! Geoff joined us as we walked around campus on Saturday and attempted to go on a hike, but found it a bit to snowy.

Being cheesy on campus. We were so glad it was a nice day, sping is beautiful in Utah.

Had to get this shot, when Adam was young he used to want to go to BYU because that's where Steve Young went. Then he found out it was a Mormon school and his hopes were dashed, who knew the road that was ahead.

It was such a quick fun trip! I just love Rhett and Monica so much and am so thankful for their examples, they truly are such a wonderful couple and have so much talent and have such a bright road ahead of them.
