I know a lot of people talk about how fast time goes, hey I am one of them, but as Adam and I reach the four year mark of wedded bliss, I look back at that day and think about all the changes that have happened, and I wonder how it's only been four years! So much has happened, it feels like it should take a decade for everything to play out the way it has.
Take for example this picture of the Billen Family.
Our family today has 6 more people! 1 new brother-in-law, 1 new sister-in-law, and 4 new nephews!
We're also missing a very dear member, as 2 years ago, our dear sweet Pa went to join his bride in Heaven, and we miss him dearly.
While the Blaesser side hasn't seen as much growth in numbers, oh how things have changed. Several college graduations, including Adam's MBA from USC, Nat and Katie's Bachelor's degrees from Cal Poly and Katie's Master's program in Europe have all led to the Blaesser family being thankfully employed and spread across the west, and an official empty nester stage for Mike and Janine.
Adam and I have experienced a lot of our own growth as well these past four years, including the previously mentioned completion the MBA program and job changes for Adam, and lots of travel between the two of us, together and apart! We were sealed in the temple three years ago and have reached many spiritual goals together that have filled our home with such joy and love.
We've achieved physical and personal goals including running our first half marathon together, and now training for our first marathon together. Something I would never even consider doing if I wasn't married to this man!
Adam has become a master Mystery Shopper, earning over $2,000 in free food and services and became an expertDo-It- Yourselfer as he's transformed both bathrooms and our kitchen, with almost no professional help (minus the kitchen counters).
How lucky am I to be married to this man?? While four years may seem like 10, it is all in good ways. We've done more in these four years together, than I would think possible and the future is certainly filled with so much promise, being married really is the best! Happy Anniversary to us!
P.S. I wrote this post on Tuesday night, January 3rd and scheduled it to post on Thursday Jan. 5th. On Wednesday Jan. 4th I got the news that my dear sweet Grandmother had suffered a massive stroke and is on life support. Another sad change to the Billen Family as she will soon be gone too.... I couldn't just let this post go out without mention of this. Grandma Billen surely deserves a post of her own, but for now, I'll cherish the memory I have of her and am so gald she could be with us on our wedding day!
Love you and Miss you Grandma

Happy anniversary! Sorry to hear about your grandmother.
Ah, I was reading along on this entry and wondering if you had yet been notified. I was just hanging out with Grandma Billen-Macabe a week ago! I thought we had a couple more years with her--she had told me several years ago that she felt like she had a good ninety or ninety-five years in her, but alas. It is sad how quickly an accident can exacerbate health problems. Happy Anniversary Whitney! At least I will hopefully get to see some of my Billen cousins for the first time in forever because of this. Love ya, Cousin Robert
