Never in my life time...

Would I have imagined that I would be meeting with some of the world's most powerful and influential people. But my job has afforded me some incredible opportunities to do so. When I have traveled I have met many local leaders and dignitaries including the First Lady of Peru, and Mayor of Rosarito, but this week was definitely the biggest....

You probably don't know who that is but it is El Presidente Vicente Fox, former President of Mexico, and his wife Marta. . On Wednesday, we went to a lecture he spoke at, at UCI and then we were invited to attend the reception afterwards, we talked to him about Free Wheelchair Mission and asking him to help us get wheelchairs to Mexico. I got his card and hope to be able to get a good connection going in Mexico. I never thought I'd be meeting any President, past or present from any country. But I guess if that was on my bucket list I could cross it off.

Really though, it's always so humbling to me. I sit in certain meetings and look around me and sometimes there are people in there who have millions and millions of dollars and have been so successful. Like today I had a meeting with Hans Keristead, the first researcher in the world to differentiate embryonic stem cells into neural cells that can repair damaged tissue in spinal cord injury. He is going to help us raise funds to send wheelchairs to Guinea, Africa, and he's sitting here telling me what great things I am doing, and I looked at him and think he's got to be joking, when I look at all his accomplishments, mine seem so small, but that's not how he saw it, and I am just amazed as to this path I have been directed to.

Again, my job, proves to be truly a blessing, I love it, everything about it. (Except for the commute) But really, the network of people I know now covers over 70 countries around the world. I have a hard time wraping my brain around it sometimes, I am so thankful for every opportunity I get to be part of such a great work!
